Zhuhai Nights

The Definitive Guide To Life After Dark In Zhuhai 珠海夜生活

I know there are some people on this website who have some hidden restaurants they need to share with the rest of us!

What's a good "hidden" spot in Zhuhai to eat at? What should I order if I go there?

Help me out guys, I need to try some new places in Zhuhai!

p.s. I don't have any strong dislikes to foods.... I'll try anything...

p.p.s Mark and I have found a very unique-style restaurant (at least to us) but haven't tried it yet. To those interested, an exploration of the restaurant is in the works. In other words, we all needa check it out together!

Oh Jackie... you need to hang with me more... There is a place kinda by Annie's place with some good Taiwan food... I don't know the address but its good... Another favorite is on Walking street behind the chicken where they slice it like Turkish style it's called: Swan La Fen... its rice noodles in soup and its sour and spicy.... good... There are corndogs on Walking street now.... not Foster Farms or anything but I try to pretend... Another favorite is by JK bar... a 24 hour place with a red sign and an old chinese guy with glasses on it... I like their "Fan Tuan" they have a salty version and sweet version... its basically like a big Sushi Roll with out the sushi... rice wrapped around sugar and some peanuts and a Chinese doughnut... i like it... it satisfies my sweet tooth... we all know the big boat restaurant which is a cement boat on that Island in Xiang Zhoe... well that restaurant is way over priced for mediocre dishes... but they have this appetizer, that is the BOMB... its like a bun with some scallions in it that is pan fried after it is steamed... I call them Crack Buns... go and order and order for take out.... its only like 15 for 5... thats it for now... these are some of my secret spots so only the privileged on Zhuhai nights can know....

There's a lot of places around town that not many people know of. Law I'm not sure if you know the Taiwanese restaurant with pepper shrimp behind LHL (walking st). Also some good chicken hot pot places. Can't really think about food this early in the morning. We should all get together one night and after a couple beers I'm sure I'll remember some other places.

Hey...Jackie...I do have some good places to recommend to you . But I don't think you guys would like them .Becasue the atmosphere of the places may not very fit you ,because they're totally Chinese style , very lively .
The one I usually go is near the Nan Xiang Li bus stop. It's a very small Chinese restauarant ,but it's clear .And its name is Lan Zhou La mian which means it mainly serves the noodles .You definitely should try the beef(or lamb) noodles with soup. But becasue the owner has his own religion ,you should not order the pork. And you could have some very local north food. And also you could enjoy the chief's performan .He will show you how to make the noodles. And if you come at night ,you may have some barbecue food as well.
And the price of food are very low , have a good meal just costs less than 20 yuan each person.

And the sceond place is Ya yuan Tea restaurant (茶餐厅),it's nearby the Yindo hotel, and just located at the Yindo Bus stop, right opposite to the Yuehai hotel.
You could have Chinese and Western food as well .And it's from macao....actually I am not sure. Curry beef noodles ,it's yummy . And also you could have a rich or light breakfast ,as Brain said "Can't really think about food this early in the morning.".As I know many foreigners just go the KFC or M .But the steak there are not very good ,as I know. But there have sandwich ,bread ,noodles, coffee, milk tea...many many...which are good.
But both of them do not provide English menu , I suppose it may be a little bit difficult for you .
And the third one ,I would like to suggest you to go "Tian xin "Restaurant (means sweet heart ).It's just nearby the xiang ning bus stop, and not far from the first restaurant I remmended ,and beside is the GLV school. The atmosphere over there is nice .And it's a western style one,so they certainly have English menu, you could feel free to order what you want . You may have a nice dinner with you partner.I have been there a few times ,and every time just gave me a very nice impression.
And the price of food are reasonable .

Those places all sound nice cocoa but its all about the atmosphere. Drinking with the locals, eating outside, and having the girls sign some songs or play music for you. I like people watching and seeing what they are fighting about. There's always something going on. :)

Ha! Of course Lawrence was the first one to reply to this post! I do second Brian's notion of all heading out to eat some time. We should start a Fooders of Zhuhai Group!

I really enjoy local Chinese food and I know that many of these restaurants offer food from different provinces. Does anyone know any restaurants that offer typical food from a certain province? (could be any food, example Sichuan). I would be interested to know what area of China the style of cooking is from!

Shanghai cuisine. This is place is at the back side of Duty Free on the opposite side of the street on the corner. It is very authentic and serves separate breakfast, lunch and evenings banquets menus.

The Kingward All You Can Eat Sushi Review was started by Mark in the Directory. It's also on the map here.

I really like the place, but I don't think it's the best sushi in town. The atmosphere is nice though and the deal is also good. I have heard that they've started charging for waste. Guess too many foreigners heard about the place!

Have you been there?

Backside of which Duty Free where? Sorry, I'm no good with directions! Does the restaurant have a name? What about the cost? I don't know much about Shanghai cuisine, but this sounds really interesting and tasty!

The Shanghai restaurant is called Shue Yuen, I think Shue means snow. Downstairs is simple food, upstairs is a full restaurant. They have been around for over ten years. Used to be a dump but they remodeled about 6 years ago and now it's decent. The mama-san who owns it used to be in the shoe business. Shanghainese say that their cuisine is not high class but quite authentic.

There's an interesting and very popular new place specializing in pigeon hot pot in the bar street in Nanping (sp?). It's across the main road and in a few blocks from Huafa New Town. The broth seems to use a lot of Ginseng and is quite flavourful and special. They also have exotic stuff like crocodile.
