JK bar used to make some great Cocktails, but they closed... Steve has made Casa Pepe the new place for great tasting Western Cocktails!!! Until I see another place with better cocktails.... Casa Pepe is King Now!!!

I agree with Debs, JK would be a good place for a rendez-vous. Maybe we can talk to the bar (Gary) and he can come up with some special ones, just for us!?!?

I definitely agree that this group should pave the way for many more nights out! ok, so here is my input -
1) I vote for JKs, purely because its the only one I know how to get to!
2) As soon a possible. Maybe before the end of this month as I have to leave Zhuhai shortly after :-(
3) If we're drinking cocktails all night I reckon the entertainment will come in the form of highly amusing drunk people so not much more is needed. maybe some soft tunes to make us feel sophisticated could help..!?
4) If lots of people are there then maybe we should pay as we go. If there's a smaller group of people who drink at the same-ish rate then we could do whips (and yes, us girlies can keep up with you men)
5) how about fish bowls so everyone can have a try?!
6) non members are not as cool as us so i dont think they should be invited!!

and as for my favourite cocktail, I like the Mai Tais in JKs and a good old white russian always hits the spot. my all time favourite was simply blue curacao and orange though. Way too sickly after more than a couple, but the fact that it goes an illuminous green colour and makes your tongue change colour was highly impressive when I was growing up and trying to be cool!

OK OK, C-c-c-cocktail Connoisseurs!

Lawrence, Jackie and myself were chatting about the idea of getting these great little micro-groups together more often and we reckon THIS group should lead the way.

QUESTIONS TO THE COLLECTIVE

1. Where should we throw the first COCKTAIL CONNOISSEURS MEMBERS ONLY party?
2. When?
3. What entertainment would work best with our drinks?
4. Would we do an initial cover fee to cover the cost of drinks, or just let everyone pay for what they drink?
5. Should we make mini-cocktails (member suggestions) to let people try some new stuff without breaking the bank?
6. Should we let people in if they are NOT members of this group? Hahahaha!

My top votes for location are (in no particular order):

• Zubon Business Hotel / Lexington Plaza, Jida (GORGEOUS cocktail lounge)
• JK Bar, Gong Bei (Great vibe & Gary is AWESOME)
• Ryan's Bar, Xiangzhou (depending on how many people are interested)

I used to get Cocktails when I went on "Darkness Missions" at Tian Di but the bar tenders were sweet on me so I never paid... I just drank and they were never strong. Never really frequented Rude Bar unless it was a themed night. I had a few stiff drinks there but the price was just outrageous coz I like most Westerner's out here I can guzzle!!! I prefer drinking spirits coz I'm not a fan of beer too much. I'm looking forward to checking out JK bar when I return.

Oh and Doug Orange soda and Mountain Dew have two distinct flavors. I don't like orange soda so I would most likely would not try to mix Vodka with it.
